Welcome to Mrs. Jessica Ralston, Assistant Principal, Symmes Elementary School

Good afternoon families! It is my hope that you are enjoying a wonderful summer. It's going by quickly! We will see you in less than a month!

Some of you may have already heard the exciting news!  This school year we will officially have a full-time assistant principal, dedicated to serving our students, families and staff at Symmes Elementary. The Sycamore Community Schools Board of Education approved Jessica Ralston as assistant principal. She is already a familiar face in the building, having started as a special education teacher in 2008. She has served as an intervention specialist at Symmes for the past three years. Jessica officially began her new position at Symmes on Monday, July 27th; but had already been helping to get things ready for the start of the 2015-2016 school year.

All four elementary schools will now have full-time assistant principals in place of the part-time model currently utilized. Edwin H. Greene Intermediate School will have two full-time assistant principals on staff. The junior high and high school will maintain their current administrative staffing levels. The cost of the reorganization is offset by elimination of a district office administrative position and savings from attrition. Several appointments have been made to fill vacant administrative positions in addition to the re-organization.

We are excited to welcome a new face to the office at Symmes Elementary!  Mrs. Jennifer Shomo will join Mrs. Vogt in our main office.  Mrs. Shomo has been very involved in our PTO over the last few years and has often subbed in the office.  We are happy to have Mrs. Shomo at Symmes.
