Field Day - Friday, May 29

The weather looks great for Field Day!  Parents, please remember to have your child wear his/her class color, put on sunscreen and bring a packed lunch,,,,we will have water stations. All parents are invited to attend.  Just go to the walking track to watch.  If you are a volunteer, please come at your assigned time.  

Session 1:  3rd and 4th grade 9:30 - 11:30

AM Field Day  (Pappas, Stanford & Houston)  11:00 - 11:45

LUNCH (School wide)  12:15 - 12:45

Session 2 1st and 2nd grade  1:00 - 3:00

The Sycamore Athletic Department sponsors camps in a wide array of sports for most grade levels.  Go to the Summer Sports Camp page on the Sycamore website for more information and to register on-line through parent portal!  Prices increase by $10 per camp on May 29th, so sign up now!

NEWS FROM OUR MEDIA CENTER

From the Media Center:

All library books are due this week, May 18 - 22, on your student’s regular library day. Library classes will continue until the last day of school but we will not check out books.

If your child is having trouble finding his/her library books, teachers and I make every effort to help students locate those missing books here at school. We appreciate your help in looking for them at home. If a book cannot be found, please pay the replacement cost of the book before the last day of school.

Good news! Your donations to our Love Our Library Program gave us 125 new books this year! Thank you for helping to renew and refresh our library.

I hope you will encourage your young readers to join the “All-Star Reader” program this summer at the Symmes Branch of the Public Library located right next door to our school. Children who “power up” with reading during summer break benefit from a head start when they come back to school.

Parents:  Please make note there will be NO CHARGES in the cafeteria after May 28^th.   You may still pay for lunch through parent portal.

If you owe any money, please pay it as soon as possible, by sending in a check, cash or paying through the parent portal.  If your child has money left in his/her account, it will be rolled over for next year.  Report cards will be held for unpaid balances.

If you are moving and have money left in your account, please contact Jessica Johnson at 513-686-1700  for reimbursement.

Boosterthon Fun Run!!!

We are excited the Boosterthon Fun Run date is here.  Please continue gathering pledges to support our school.  On Friday, May 15th, our little runners will hit the track in hopes of raising funds to support installation of a ParCourse by the walking track. Please join us to cheer our children on! 

Half day AM Kindergarten will run at 10am.  3rd and 4th graders will run at 1:15pm. 1st, 2nd, and full day/half day PM Kindergarten will run at 2:30pm.  Please dress your children in the color shirt designated for their grade.  Kindergarten in WHITE, 1st grade in RED, 2nd grade in BLUE, 3rd grade in GREEN, and 4th grade in YELLOW!

MEDICATION REMINDER

If your child has medication remaining in the Nurse's Clinic at the end of the year, an adult must pick it up. No medication is to be transported by a child. Medication remaining in the Clinic past the last day of school must be discarded. This includes inhalers and Epi-pens.

Symmes Boosterthon

Parents!

We’re excited to host the 9-day Boosterthon Fun Run as this year’s fundraiser. We'll kick off the fun, healthy, and character-building program today, May 6th. Plus, students will be learning five ways to make their community rock with Boosterthon’s character theme Rock’n Town Live, a music festival theme all about community. Along the way, students will gather pledges for how many laps they’ll run at the Boosterthon Fun Run event, which is on May 15th. Your family is invited to come out and cheer on your student! Please help our school by connecting your student with sponsors.
