A Fond Farewell

We have mixed emotions as we say good-bye to our long time friend and front office secretary, Mrs. Ann Benton.  Mrs. Benton has greeted us for 26 years in the front office.  Tomorrow will be her last day in the office.  Her smiling face will be missed, but we know her retirement is much deserved and will be enjoyed by her and her grandchildren!  Enjoy retirement, Mrs. Benton!  You will be missed!

We hope everyone is off to a great start this summer!  We are busy in the office closing things up for this year and getting ready for the new school year!  We wanted to let you know that the office will be open the month of June from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Feel free to call if you need anything.

We hope everyone is relaxing and getting  to spend some family time together.  Please try to take time to read with your kids, even using fun games and reading signs while in the car!  Even reading menu's in a restaurant is a nice practice for our kids!

Board seeks public's continued help with Ohio budget fight

The Sycamore Board of Education is seeking the public’s help, this time with the Ohio Senate, to save a significant portion of the district's budget from possible phase-out. The Senate is currently considering House Bill 64, Ohio’s biennial budget. Board members encourage the community to let their voices be heard by State lawmakers regarding the proposed TPPR phase out. Joseph Beth Booksellers Bookmark winner!

Congratulations to Christina Hong in Mrs. Schafer's second grade classroom! She won the bookmark contest sponsored by Joseph-Beth Booksellers! Christina will be at the Rookwood store on Sunday, June 7, at 4 p.m. to sign her prize-winning bookmarks. Stop by to "meet the author" and pick up a bookmark (and a book!) for your summer reading.

End of Year Assembly

We will have a school assembly on Wednesday at 9:30 to extend our well wishes to our staff who will be leaving due to retirement or moving.  All parents are invited to attend.  The assembly should last about 30 minutes.
