SYMMES VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED

SYMMES VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR 2016-2017!

Our great school has an amazing culture of volunteers to support our programs and services. Would you consider taking a moment to visit our sign-up genius page to be notified of service opportunities this year?  The link is found at: http://tinyurl.com/hqoeyl4

OR if you are a hard copy sort of person, look for a PTO sign-up sheet in back pack mail next week!

Here are 5 Reasons to Volunteer:
1) It takes a village: no one can do it on their own!

2) A little of your time goes a long way...many hands make light work.

3) Everyone has something to offer, even if it is just an hour or two. You don't have to be Martha Stewart. Many jobs can also be done at home!

4) Your child will benefit. "When parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school. When parents are involved at school, children go father in school and the schools they go to are better." (Henderson & Berla "A New Generation of Evidence: Family is Critical to Student Achievement")
5) You'll feel good and might even make friends!

Helping YOUR school!

Want to make a big difference for our school in just a few painless minutes? It takes minimal effort on your part, and it's like "free money" for our school.

Kroger Community Rewards

Do you have a Kroger Plus Card?  Simply do the following simple steps to link your Plus card to Symmes Elementary.  Then each time you make a qualifying purchase with your Plus card, Symmes will receive a percentage of the sale.  Last year our school received $3555.62 through this simple fundraiser (the teachers were able to use this money for special classroom requests)
· select location
· on next page, choose "enroll"
· if you have an account, then log in... if not, create an account (bottom of 2nd column)
· find "community rewards" and select Symmes Elementary PTO as your organization and save
If at some point you need an organization number... ours is 81716

“Cash for Trash”:  Box Tops

Earn money for Symmes by simply doing a little clipping!  These products all offer cash incentives to our school when we send in their labels. You can send in box tops at any time via back pack mail...each teacher has a box outside their room for collection.  Also, watch for further information about classroom collection contests!

AmazonSmile

Amazon donates .5% of the price of eligible AmazonSmile purchases to Symmes. Shop on amazon as usual (works with Amazon prime). The only catch is that you must shop through the Amazon Smile site (it is the exact same shopping experience).  Bookmark  https://smile.amazon.com/ch/31-1340714.  and use it to make your purchases.

AVES Hangar Bookstore and Spirit Shop

Inline image 2

The AVES Hangar Bookstore & Spirit Shop is your source for Sycamore spiritwear!
The entire Sycamore community can find AVES logo and Sycamore Aviator spiritwear in youth through adult sizes at the AVES Hangar located on the lower level of Sycamore High School. Not only do we carry apparel in all sizes but we also have fun novelty items - Tervis Tumblers with the Aves logo, sport bottles, car magnets, lanyards and more! We have fun items for you and your family and great gift items too!
·         The store is open throughout the school year giving you the opportunity to shop for spiritwear when you are ready. If you can't find the size you need in the store we can place an order and have it delivered to any school in district.
·      The AVES Hangar is the main fundraising mechanism of the SHS PTO. The shop serves the students, parents, faculty, staff and members of the Sycamore community by providing spirit apparel and essential school items. It's managed and staffed by PTO volunteers so 100% of the store's profits go back into our school!
